It is with deep regret that the WFD announce the passing of Past Chief Richard J. Penney. Rick has been a staple in the WFD for decades; beginning as a junior firefighter in the early 80's, rising to the rank of Chief of Department at the turn of the century, then serving two terms on the Board of Fire Commissioners. In between Rick juggled family, work at the Sheriff's Office, and service with numerous associations and non-profits. At this time there are no plans completed, and the family asks for distance to allow them to grieve. Images:
