Walden Responds to a Mutal Aid Call to Campbell Hall

On 3/21/16 The Walden Fire Dept. was dispatched as Mutual Aid to a Hay / Brush Fire in the Campbell Hall Fire District. Within minutes Asst. Chief Sager and Asst. Chief Totonis responded to the call along with Tanker 239, Brush Truck 242, and UTV 243. Chief Williams and the rest of the apparatus stayed in our district to ensure proper coverage and to coordinate relief manpower later in the day for the initial crew.

Upon arrival to the scene the men and women of the Walden Fire Dept. found hundreds of bales hay on fire with brush fires starting in the surrounding area. In fact the structures around the farm faced the danger of being engulfed in the flames.

Walden Units remained on scene for over 12 hours battling the flames with wind gusts hitting more than 30 miles per hour. Along with Walden over 30 Departments between 3 counties helped in the efforts to contain the blaze.
