On 6/26/17 the Walden Fire Department participated in a joint agency Active shooter drill with local Police Departments and EMS. This was the first hands on drill where the multiple disciplines worked together and formed "Rescue Task Force" consisting of Fire EMS and Police, to make entry into the area to treat and remove wounded civilians.

On 9/3/16 and 9/4/16 the Walden Fire Department provided apparatus and manpower to the New York Air National Guard (Stewart) for the NY Air Show. During the show the highlighted even was the USAF Thunderbirds. The Department provided the UTV and Tanker for support.

On May 13th the Walden FD held its 2017 Installation Dinner. Line Officers and Civil Officers were sworn in.

Awards were presented to members various reasons to include over 50 Years of Service.

Today the members of the Walden Fire Dept. attended the Funeral of Captain Jack Rose of the Mt. Marion FD, in which he passed away in the Line of Duty. Captain Rose was in the process of fighting a structure fire last week in Ulster County when the incident occurred.

The members of The Walden Fire Dept. also responded to Stewart ANG Base to pay honor to the TSgt Joseph Lemm of the 105th Security Forces Squadron, since he was brought home today. TSgt Joseph Lemm was killed in action in Afghanistan and was also a Police Detective with the NYPD for over 15 Years.

On Saturday April 26, 2014 the Walden Fire Dept. held its open house. It was a great day for the Dept. to showcase what we it does and provide some fun activities to the community members.

The dept. provided some great BBQ that was cooked by its members and some great refreshments. There was also some great deserts that included baked goods, cupcakes, and a ton of candy.

The members and officers of the Walden Fire Dept. were proud to work with the Walden Baptist Church this week for Operation Dalmatian a toy drive. Between many local schools, organizations, and churches we had the ability to help raise enough toys for the children in over 100 local families. During this week the members and officers of the dept. had the opportunity to go collect, sort, wrap and ultimately deliver these toys to the families with the fire trucks of the Walden Fire Department.

Walden provided an Engine with manpower to Island Park, LI. In one of the first deployments of any Fire Dept. from Orange County, the Walden Fire Department traveled to the hamlet of Island Park just after the local fire fighters had received 700 calls and hours after the Hurricane had hit.
